Ray Garcia is the creative mind behind R & R Eco, LLC. An entrepreneur and experienced business owner, Ray started by obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. While a student, he interned for NASA at Dryden Research Center where the space shuttle was being developed.

Ray has managed multi-million-dollar businesses. His first business partner was Dr. Barry Bernstein, whose equation for modeling polymer behavior is still the gold standard. Their company manufactured clutches for the auto industry and also provided testing for oil companies. When they sold that company, Ray went to work for the buyer as president of its U.S. operations. Later Ray moved on and partnered in a company which also supplied parts to the auto industry.  More recently, Ray looked for the opportunity to develop a new product that would fill a need and be profitable at scale. Caring passionately about the environment, he wanted to create a product that would address a major environmental problem, plastic pollution. From those dual goals, Ray’s inventiveness, engineering skill, tenacity and people skills, bore fruit with the Rayrick fishing line which does not contain any nylon. In the process, Ray developed relationships with major manufacturers who have helped R & R Eco to be able to debut our fishing line at the 2025 ICAST show and take the next step in our journey.
